- A comprehensive dental exam will be performed by your dentist in Breeze Dental at the initial visit.
- Our patient’s initial visit to our office is the most important visit. During this visit, we will establish your oral health baseline. Careful review of your medical and dental histories, medications currently taking, along with all your dental concerns will be noted. If there are any immediate dental issues you have, we will also address it during this visit.
- During this visit, we will check to see if you have dental caries (cavity), your gingival (gum) health, your periodontal (bone surrounding teeth) health, and we will also perform an oral cancer screening
- All necessary diagnostic dental films will be taken at this time.
- Intra-oral scanning: We will also perform intra-oral scanning with state of the art Carestream Intra-oral Scanner. This will capture the entire oral condition, including teeth, gum and document your bite.
- Examination of diagnostic X-rays (radiographs): 2-D X-rays allow us to detect any decay, bone loss around teeth. If needed, 3-D diagnostic tool such as Cone Bean Computed Tomography (CBCT) will be taken to diagnose tumors and cysts.
- Oral cancer screening: Detailed examintaion of the face, neck, lips, tongue, throat, tissues, and gums for any signs of oral cancer.
- Gum disease evaluation: Using dental instruments to exam the gums and bone around the teeth for any signs of periodontal disease.
- Examination of tooth decay: Every part of the tooth surfaces will be checked for decay with special dental instruments and x-rays.
- Examination of existing restorations: All existing dental restoration will be carefully checked to ensure its longevity.
